Bill Bennett, 68, of Benton died Sunday, March 20, 2011, in Benton.
Bill was born March 10, 1943, in Wheatley.
He was a self employed heating and air contractor and a reserve deputy sheriff in Saline County. He loved his family, fishing, hunting and liked to work on junk.
He is survived by his wife, Charmell Bennett of Benton; three sons, Wesley Bennett, Bill Bennett Jr. of Benton and Antonio Shane Bennett of Jacksonville; two daughters, Cyndy Reed of Little Rock and Scherry Bennett of Bentonville; his mother, Loretta Nash Bennett of Wheatley; two brothers, Jerry Bennett and wife Colleen of McRae and Jimmy Bennett of Conway; his sister, Judy Bennett Hull of Florida; eight grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.
Bill was preceeded in death by his father, Calbert Stroud; stepfather, James Bennett; and a sister, Belinda Stroud.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wheatley United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bobby Minick and Charlotte Staggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery in Wheatley. Arrangements by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.
Pallbearers are Wesley Bennett, Bill Bennett Jr. Antonio Shane Bennett, David Thompson, Dion Nash and Curtis Nash. Honorary pallbearers are Dean Nash, Bill Couch, Elton Coe, Dwight Thompson, Dickie Baker, Hal Mason and Terry Mason.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
