Billy “Andy” Dortch, 55, of Sardis died Sunday, Jan. 6. He was born Nov. 13, 1957, in Little Rock.
He was employed at Arkansas Trailer and previously affiliated with Great Dane Trailer for 19 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oral Dortch of Sardis.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Dortch of Sardis; his wife of 17 years, Terri Turnage Dortch of Sardis; a son, Blake Dortch, and grandson Tyler of Tulsa, Okla.; a stepson, Josh Swint, and his son, Dustin, of Rose Bud; a stepdaughter, Jodi Blackard and husband Kendrick and their children, Tallon and Kamryn, of Lonoke; a brother, Dennis Dortch of Sardis; three sisters, Carolyn Herndon and husband Buck of Alexander, Kathi Bergemann and husband Jim of Monroe, La., and Becky Cossey and husband Larry of Sardis; many nieces and nephews; and his lifelong best friend, Rick Everhart. He will also be dearly missed by his two best buddies, Simon and Snack.
He leaves a special family of friends where he and his wife played league pool at the Fox and Hound, where he coached the “Pocket Poachers” for several years.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Ashby Funeral Home.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home.
