Bobbie Childress Hart, 84, a longtime Benton resident, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 16, 2013. Bobbie was the daughter of the late Plummer and Toncie Childress.
Bobbie was a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church for 20 years and a member of WMU for 20 years, serving as president for five years, vice president for five years and secretary for five years.Â Her heart was dedicated to missions and was evidenced by her support of the Dixie Jackson, Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon mission programs, as wellÂ as her faithful support of Billy Graham.Â
She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick J. Hart, on Feb. 21, 1985; her sisters, Rachel Lee, Opal Brown, Jane Bowman and Mary Faustyne "Pat" Roper; and her brother, James W. Childress.
Left to honor Bobbie and her loveÂ are her devoted son, Gary P. Hart of Durham, N.C.;Â a daughter, PeggyÂ HardinÂ and husband Tony of Benton; three grandchildren, Amelia Self, Brittany Becker-George (nee Hart), Ashley Rian Hart, and five great-grandchildren.Â She leaves many beloved nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.Â
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will be a Mt. OliveÂ Cemetery.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Heights Baptist Church's mission programs.
