Bobby J. Rowan

Bobby J. Rowan, 81, of Benton passed away Monday, Sept. 19, at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant.  He was born Nov. 30, 1929, in Hot Springs to the late Henry and Maude Rowan and was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Ray Rowan.
 He is survived by his wife, Gwen Butler Rowan of Benton; one son, Doug Rowan and wife Karen; one daughter, Deidra Ford; four grandchildren, Brian, Brooke and Justin Rowan and Joe Ford and wife Courtney; two great-grandsons, Colin and Caleb Ford, all of Benton; one sister, Mary Lou Addie of Ida, La.; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Richard Hamlin and Muncy Harris officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to Saline Memorial Hospice House, 23157 Hwy I-30, Bryant, AR 72022 or Sharon Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 402 Shenandoah, Benton, AR 72019.
