BREAKING NEWS: Saline County placed under burn ban

June 22, 2012

Saline County is under a burn ban.
County Judge Lanny Fite announced today that he has declared the ban following the state Forestry Commission's recommendation.
Burn bans are issued for 30 days unless a lift is authorized by the Arkansas Forestry Commission.
The ban reportedly applies to controlled or other burning.
The current dry conditions and high temperatures reportedly have necessitated this decision.
The county is among several of the state's 75 counties that currently have bans in effect, according to the Arkansas Forestry Commission.
Officials throughout the state warn that even the smallest spark can start a fire and fires can quickly get out of control.
