June 21, 2014

Bryant School Board has approved the sale of land near Hurricane Creek Elementary for the expansion of Alcoa Road.

The action occurred in a meeting Tuesday night.

Saline County will purchase a small piece of land near Hurricane Creek Elementary from the district for $40,753.19, according to the contract.

This amount will include the needed funds to move the school's electronic gate and sign, said Don McGohan, assistant superintendent.

The Alcoa Road expansion is a shared project involving the cities of Benton and Bryant and the county.
The board also approved a salary increase for Gay Seller, who currently serves as food service director, and a salary increase for substitute bus drivers.

After hearing a report of donations that the Bryant choral ensemble, the Honeybees, received in 2013-2014, the board mentioned discussing the district's fundraising practices..
The board will meet again on July 24.
