Buddy 'BJ' Brazell Jr.

Buddy “BJ” Brazell Jr., who was born Aug. 22, 1956, in Lincoln County to Buddy Brazell Sr. and Eddie B. Brazell, departed this life in Lewisville, Texas, on Saturday, Nov. 24.
His family moved to Benton in 1969 and Buddy, along with his siblings, attended Benton public schools. He accepted Christ and became a member of Elect Temple Church of God in Christ under the ministry of the late Pastor Willie Barnes Jr.
He worked a a security officer and an employee of Walmart in Lewisville, Texas, until his health began to fail.
Buddy Brazell Jr. was preceded in death by his grandparents, Major and Bammer Brazell, Willie Sr. and Ranie Ailsworth; his father, Buddy Brazell Sr.; and two brothers, Tommy James White and Roy Lee Brazell.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Eddie B. Brazell of Benton; sons, Kelvin Brazell of Lewisville, Texas, and Bobby Brazell and wife Allise of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Nicole Jackson and husband Corey of Dallas, Lakisha Brazell of Munich, Germany, and Jennifer Brazell of the Philippines; his brothers, Stanley White and wife Jenny of Little Rock, Whitt Harris Sr. and wife Tammy of Pine Bluff and Samuel Brazell Sr. of Benton; his sisters, Ellen Freeman, Ora Mauldin and husband Jerry, Opal McCoy, Bobbie Jean Brazell, Susie Hill and husband Jessie Sr., and Dorothy Mae Brazell, all of Benton; grandsons, Raphael James Brazell of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Brandon Brazell of Munich, Germany; uncles, W.C. Ailsworth and wife Bertha of Linwood, Jessie Alisworth and wife Olivia of Topeka, Kan.; his aunts, Ellen McCoy of Fresno, Calif., Mattie Jackson of Oakland, Calif.,, Evelyn Dizon and husband Romy of the Philippines; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Buddy will be laid to rest at 2:15 p.m. today, Nov. 30, at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Visitation was to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to leaving for the cemetery.
