Carl W. Scott, 87, of Benton passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014. 
He was born Sept. 27, 1926 in Prescott, to the late George and Georgia Floyd Scott. 
Mr. Scott was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired truck driver and a member of Congo Road Baptist Church.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and leaves behind many memories for his family to cherish. He loved the Lord and served him for many years.
Mr. Scott was an avid hunter and a fisherman and loved all things outdoors. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Scott; two daughters, Myra McNair and Jennifer Summerville and husband James, all of Benton; a grandson, Chris Summerville and wife Monica of Ningbo, China; two granddaughters, Amber Summerville Davis and Maleah Summerville. both of Benton; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Scott of Gurdon and Barbara Scott of Arkadelphia; a very special sister-in-law, Merilla Davis of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, at Congo Road Baptist Church. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Ashby Funeral Home.
