Charles Arthur “Chuck” Tallent

Charles Arthur “Chuck” Tallent of Benton, a retired deputy for the Saline County Sheriff's Office, passed away at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant on Aug. 20.
Tallent was born Jan. 20, 1947, in Hollis. He served his country in the U. S. Navy Seabees (Can Do, We Build-We Fight). He also served as a Saline County Deputy Sheriff, at the rank of Sergeant and worked in law enforcement for 27 years. He will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Arthur Tallent; and a sister, Ada Louise Bata. 
He is survived by his mother, Ava Lee Davis of Rogers; a brother, Clint Tallent; a sister, Erma Matuszyk; two sons, Dave Tallent and Dakota Tallent; a daughter, Patricia Tallent; and grandchildren, Lainey and Cayden Symonds, Madalaine, Gabriel, and Josephine Wells, and Sidney Tallent. 
Memorial service with full police honors will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 24, at the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, 735 S. Neeley St. in Benton, with Chaplain Tamra Gore officiating.  
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton.
