Charles Clifton Pritchard, 84, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, Nov. 10, of natural causes at England Manor Nursing Home in England.
He was born June 14, 1927 to Claud Marion and Alice (Fortune) Pritchard in Little Rock.Â In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Hartley) Pritchard, one sister, Ruth (Curtis) DuVall, one brother Horace (Doris) Pritchard and one granddaughter, Jennifer Janette Jones.Â
He was survived by one son, Larry (Jan) Olsen of Ellicott, Colorado, two daughters, Carolyn (Ralph) Jones of Coy, Arkansas and Linda (Charles) White of North Little Rock, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Laurie (Karl) Schultz of Springfield, Illinois; three grandsons, Jeremy Jones of Memphis, Tennessee, Jason (Paula) Ashworth and Kevin (Mallory) Ashworth of Wichita, Kansas; two great grandsons, Kyle and Nathaniel Ashworth of Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Uldine Ward of Benton, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews. Charles was a charter member and trustee of Victory Baptist Church in Benton, Arkansas.Â He loved his church family very much and often worked with Dr. Ken Graham, the pastor, in many areas of the church ministries.Â He felt like he was called to that ministry and it was his heart.
He was a Navy Veteran serving in World War II with the rank of Hospital Corpsman III.Â He was a Letter Carrier in Little Rock for thirty-eight years before retiring.Â He was a Reserve Deputy Sheriff in Haskell. He was a Saline County Constable for district 9.Â Charles was a lifetime member of the NRA and also a lifetime member of National Association of Letter Carriers.
Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church in Benton, 5386 Hwy. 67, Arkansas 72015 or Landmark Baptist Church, 501 Stuttgart Hwy., England, Arkansas, 72046.
Services will be at Victory Baptist Church in Benton, Arkansas at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12 by the Rev. Ken Graham and David Jimerson. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, November 11 at Roller Ballard Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in East End, Arkansas.
