Charles 'Leon' Morehead

Charles “Leon” Morehead, 82, of Benton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. He was born March 1, 1931 in Sheridan, to the late Charles Earl Morehead and Doris Kelly Morehead.
He was a caring provider who loved golf, sports and fishing. He was retired from Entergy with 40 years of service and the Arkansas Army National Guard with 20 years of service. He was a member of Southwest Lions Club and a faithful member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church for 43 years, where he served as a greeter and nursery worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Joyce Brewer Morehead; sons, Richard Morehead and wife, DeeDee of North Little Rock; Kenneth Morehead and wife, Anna of Benton; daughters, Dana and Cherie Morehead both of Sheridan; two grandchildren, Kelsey and Tyler Morehead and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 13, at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Stanton and Reverend Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be noon at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan.
Family will receive friends 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 12 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209 (501) 455-5800.
