Charles Nathan Garrett

Charles Nathan Garrett, age 82, of Springdale, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2011.  He was born in Saline County, Arkansas on Feb. 15 in the year 1929. 
Nathan was the firstborn child of Charles Dewey and Alberta Johnson Garrett. 
 He loved hunting and fishing and was an instructor for hunter safety with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. 
After retiring from the Arkansas Highway Department in 1987, Nathan became active in “Campers on Mission” and Arkansas Disaster Relief.  He was a longtime member of Life Line Baptist Church in Little Rocks. 
In 2004, Nathan and his wife Juanita moved to Springdale to be near their grandchildren and their families.  They became members of Elmdale Baptist Church finding new friends and a warm fellowship.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Crawford; and his daughter, Donna Lynn White.
 
Nathan is survived by his wife, Juanita; a sister, Clara; his brother, Rogie; grandchildren, Dawn Garrison and Ashley White; and great-grandchildren, Alexis White, Jackson White, Reagan Miller and Nathan Miller.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Ashby Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, at the funeral home.
