Cletis Fortner

Cletis Fortner, age 79, of Benton, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014.  He was born Sept. 6, 1934, in Jonesboro, La. 
Mr. Fortner was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from AT&T after 30 years. 
He attended Gravel Hill Baptist Church and was a volunteer firefighter for the Crows Station Fire Department.
Mr. Fortner was preceded in death by his parents, Arley and Vivian Fortner; ta win brother, Cline Fortner; and two other brothers, Johnny and James Fortner.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Sue Fortner; two sons, Randy Fortner and wife Virginia and Todd Fortner and wife Kelly; a brother, Paul Fortner; and four grandchildren, Cody Fortner, Kyle Fortner, Grace Anne Fortner and Adam Meek.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Ashby Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, at Gravel Hill Baptist Church on Arkansas 9 with Brother Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Gravel Hill Cemetery Fund.
