Clyde O’Neal Brown, 91, of Benton passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Saline Memorial Hospital.Â
He was born Oct. 14, 1919, in Beedeville to Joe and Hattie Brown. Â
He was retired from the Union Pacific Railroad where he was a road master and held the title of supervisor of tracks. He was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church and an avid gardener.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Sherman; and one son, Larry.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Cathryn Elizabeth (VanLandingham) Brown; his daughter, Veronica Faye (Brown) Stracener and husband Richard; his grandchildren, Doug Stracener and wife Cindy, Kristy Fulmer and husband Denton, Angela White and husband Paul and Kerry Hobbs and husband Jason, all of Benton; great-grandchildren, Joshua Denison, Katy Stracener, Kally Leeman, Tiffany Leeman, Olivia Suggs, Zach White, Bret Stracener, Trent White and Jaycee Hobbs and two great-great-grandchildren, Braydon Denison and Avery Davenport.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home with the Revs. Phillip Drennan and Frank Thurman officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton.Â
