Creative Arts Festival scheduled Saturday in Downtown Benton

September 18, 2012

The Downtown Benton Association is sponsoring its third semi-annual Creative Arts Festival on Saturday, Sept. 22.
"Response to the annual spring festival was so great and such a success the last couple of years that we decided to add one in the fall," said Janet Ausburn, chairperson of the association.
"Saturday's festival will be even bigger and better offering more seasonal items along with other great handmade original crafts," Ausburn said.
She noted that the last festival drew more than 40 vendors.
Scheduled at the upcoming event are a variety of artisans who will be offering boutique-style handmade clothing for children and "handmade hairbows :to finish off little girls' perfect outfit look," Ausburn said.
Also to be offered are Razorback crafts, handmade jewelry, local school logos and colors, homemade jams, wood carvings, leather crafts, handmade candles, seasonal wreaths and original works of arts.
"These are just a few of the great items that will be available," Ausburn said. "And, people sign up, we're expecting there will be much more."
In addition, she noted that several Arkansas authors will be signing and selling their works at the event.
Booths will be set up on West South Street in front of Regions Bank and Books & Baubles/Gingles Gallery.
The cost for a 10-by-10-foot booth is $10. A 10-by-20-foot booth costs $20.
Pop-up awnings are allowed and are welcome, Ausburn said.
"Space is still available," she noted.
Interested individuals may contact Ausburn at Books & Baubles, 501-315-0450 or Dianne Roberts at 501-860-7467.
The festival hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
