C.W. 'Woodie' Howell

C.W. “Woodie” Howell, 79, of Alexander passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014.  He was born June 23, 1934. in Little Rock, to the late Chester Woodruff Howell Sr. and Una Belle Morris Howell Burnett. 
Mr. Howell was a painting contractor and owned C.W. Howell Painting Co. He served in the U.S. Army and attended Collegeville Nazarene Church.
Woodie was a member of the VFW No. 9095, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge No. 2567.
Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Patricia; and a sister, Gail Cooper.
He is survived by one daughter, Connie Dayer (Jack) of Conway; three sons, Jimmy Simmons of Newburn, Tenn., Bobby Simmons of Benton, and Walter Hyde (Lisa) of Alexander; six grandchildren, Alex and Madison Dayer, Katelyn and Jessica Simmons, Lindsey and Matt Simmons; one sister, Betty Hill of Alexander; his fiancée, Mary Bivens; his dog, Fonzie; and too many friends to list.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (501-315-4047) with Brother Dennis Yarberry officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
Preceding the service, visitation will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
