Cynthia Elizabeth Garner Haley, 85, of Lonsdale, went to heaven July 1.
She was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Lonsdale to Albert and Millie Garner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harold B. Haley; her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
She was a lifelong Arkansas resident and a member of Smith Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a member and past Worthy Matron of Whittington Chapter, and a current member of Congo Hill Chapter and past Grand Ruth, Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a former chief operator for Bell Telephone Co. and a retired nurse.
She is survived by her three daughters, Pat Shaw and husband Ron of Jessieville, Anita Millard of Hot Springs Village and Cindy Harper of Lonsdale; three sons, Gene Haley and wife Kate of Lonsdale, Tom Haley and wife Shirley of Hot Springs and Darryl Haley of Erwin, Tenn.; one brother-in-law, Fred Haley and wife Rita of Hot Springs; one sister-in-law, Virginia Haley of Hot Springs; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Aaron Shaw and wife Stephanie, Michael Shaw, Rebecca Lukovic and husband Veso, Jennifer Anderson,and husband Paul, Melissa Nobles and husband Brian, Stephanie Williams and husband Bryan Williams, Jason Haley and wife Christy, Jacob Haley, Alex Harper and wife Stephanie and Logan Harper; and seven great grandchildren: Lauren Peterson and husband John, Jay Pruitt, Eric Beckham, Bryanna Williams, Brock Williams, Benjamin Williams and Tucker Haley.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Smith Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Arkansas 128, Lonsdale, with Brother Buddy Horne and Brother Johnny Bratton officiating.
Burial will follow at Smith Creek Cemetery.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Susan and Alan Ault.
Visitation will be at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home in Hot Springs from 5 to 8 p.m. today, July 5.
