Dean Cochran Steele

Mrs. Dean Cochran Steele, age 98, of Benton, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013.  She was born Jan. 3, 1915, in Caruthersville, Mo. 
Mrs. Steele retired after 28 years as a psychiatric LPN at the Benton Services Center. She was of the Missionary Baptist faith. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Maggie Cochran; her husband, Carl Miller Steele; a daughter, Barbara Ann Steward; a son, James Lee Steward; and a sister, Lorene Metzger.
She is survived by her son, John Milton Steward of Benton; a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Steward of Iowa; four grandchildren, Allen Steward and wife Cindy, David Steward and wife Kimberly, Denise Nick and husband Johnny and Jamie Condry and husband Jason; six great-grandchildren, Taylor Steward, Jordan Steward, Alison Steward, Michael Nick, Angela Brewer and Mallory Steward; and four great-great-grandchildren, Bailey and Peyton Little å˜d Major and Lucia Nick.
Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 24, at the funeral home.
