Dolores Nan or Dea’ Richards

Dolores “Nan or Dea” Richards, 80, of Benton passed away on July 31 at her home. She was born April 12, 1931, in Benton. Dolores was a floral designer having owned and worked in florist shops in Benton and Little Rock, a housewife and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lorena Raney, her husband of 52 years, Mike Richards, and a grandson, Kelley Richards Chandler.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Rhonda Richards of Benton; daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Doug Hawkins of Benton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Wilma Raney and Robert and Audrey Raney all of Benton; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jack Leech of Benton; two grandchildren Michael Richards and wife Susan of Bryant and Paige Hawkins of Benton; one great-grandchild, Madison K. Richards and her two special companions, Sophie and Delilah.
Family comments: The family gives a special thanks to Dr. Russell Burton of Saline Memorial Hospice and to her caregivers Rita Jones, Sonya Long, Althea Simmons, Becky Carter and April Essman for their care and support during this time. The family also gives sincere appreciation to Matt Carter for all his love, support and care of Nan.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Ashby Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Moore Cemetery. Minister will be Dr. Rick Grant.
Pallbearers will be Jack Leech, Matt Carter, Ralph Richards, Ricky Richards, Mike Richards and Steve Richards.
Memorials may be made to Saline Memorial Hospice or to Saline County Humane Society.
