Donald William Mills Jr., 74, of Ward passed away Monday, July 4, at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant. He was born in Saugus, Mass., Jan. 6, 1937, to the late Donald William Mills Sr. and Sadie (Rich) Mills. He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran of 23 years, serving as a security policeman, and also was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. 
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mills was preceded in death by an infant sister.
 He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Trudel Mills of Ward; one daughter, Eva Sawyer, and husband Dwayne of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; two sons, Richard Mills, and wife Gabriell of Benton, and Michael Mills of Ward; five grandchildren, Remy Sawyer of Tarpon Springs, Perry and Anastasia Mills of Benton, and Brittany and Zachary Mills of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Richard Mills, and wife Donna of Saugus; and two nephews, Don Mills and Billy Mills of Saugus.
 Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Cabot with Bros. Kim Hammer and Joe Campbell officiating under the direction of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047). Interment will follow at Old Austin Cemetery in the Old Austin Community in Lonoke County.
 The family will receive friends an hour prior to service time at the church.
