Donnie Sue 'Pappy' Brooks

Donnie Sue "Pappy" Brooks, 79, of Conway passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013.
She was born July 12, 1934, in East End, to the late Coy Reed and Winnie Lowry Reed.
She was a former member of East End Baptist Church and a current member of Oak Bowery Baptist Church. She was a member of the 1950 graduating class of Sheridan High School.
She played basketball, loved fishing, cooking, eating and her pets.  She could not read music, but enjoyed playing the piano by ear. She loved orange juice and liked real soda, especially Coke. She strongly disliked "low-fat", "non-fat," low sugar, no sugar and artificial sweetener.
She was preceded in death by her son, Randall Greg Brooks; a sister, Lorene Haynes; and a brother Buddy Reed. 
She is survived by her husband, H.K, Brooks; a daughter, Lana McCormick of Conway; and her grandson, Charley G. McCormick III  (April) of Conway; and nephews, Dickie Haynes of East End, Gene Haynes of Houston, Texas, and Tony Reed of East End.   
Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Salem Cemetery in East End. 
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the funeral home.
