Dora Walker

Dora Walker, 97, of O’Kean passed away Thursday, June 9, at White County Medical Center in Searcy.
Dora was a lifetime resident of O’Kean, and had been a member of the O’Kean Freewill Baptist Church for 81 years. She was widowed at 37 years old, and raised five children on her own. She was a homemaker, and was married to the late Rev. Lonnie Walker. She was a prayer warrior for her church and she had a heart of a servant.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edie Rickey, two sons Deloss and Denver Walker, three brothers, one sister, and two grandchildren, Wendell Bennett and Gregory Walker, and her son-in-law Don Bennett.
Survivors include her son, Darrell and his wife, Patricia Walker of Jonesboro; two daughters, Joyce Bennett of Searcy and Glenda and her husband, Von Pigue of Benton; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from noon until time of service at the O’Kean Freewill Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at O’Kean Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Melvin Shelton and Bro. Aaron Winfrey officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.  Burial will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeff Walker, Wes Walker, Tommy Walker, Deloss Thomas Walker, Curtis Walker, Vince Pigue, Shane Pigue, and Chris Pigue. Honorary Pallbearers will be the O’Kean Freewill Baptist Church.
