Dovie Jewell Davis

Dovie Jewell Davis of Little Rock passed away Jan. 1, on what would have been her 75th wedding anniversary. She was born Nov. 15, 1914 in Saline County. She was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. Dovie was a gardener and truly loved flowers. She belonged to the Elmhurst Garden Club of Little Rock for 37 years. Recently she enjoyed her friends and activities at Andover Place.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Moffett R. Davis; brothers J.F. Carden and E. L. Carden; three sisters, Claudia Cathcart, Pearl Wallis and Nellie Elliott; and her parents, Lenoard Carden and Sarah Elizabeth Melton Carden.
Dovie is survived by one son, Ronnie Davis and wife Judi; daughter Danna Davis; and one grandson, Jeffrey Davis.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 4 at Ashby Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Ten Mile Cemetery in Benton.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock.
