Dr. Raymond Gilbert Ramsey, age 81, of Little Rock, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Hospice Home Care Inpatient Unit.
He was born July 15, 1932, in Little Rock, to the late Raymond and Estelle (Sossamon) Ramsey White.
Raymond married Mary Sue Godfrey in Little Rock on Aug. 21, 1953. They had two children.
He attended University of Arkansas School of Pharmacy and graduated in 1961 with a doctorate in pharmacy.Â He served as a preceptor for pharmacy students at UAMS.Â He had worked for Pettyâ€™s Drug Store (more recently USA Drug).
Raymond was a deacon of Little Rockâ€™s First Baptist Church, and served in many capacities over the years. He enjoyed running for many years and loved classical music and opera. â€¨Raymond will be remembered by his loving wife and their children: Melinda Kaye Ramsey of Little Rock and Ramona Suzanne Griffith and husband John of Little Rock.
Burial will be 9:30 am. Monday, Jan. 27 at Pinecrest Memorial Park;
A celebration of Raymondâ€™s life is scheduled for 11a.m. at Little Rockâ€™s First Baptist Church.
Visitation is set from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W. 12th St. in Little Rock.
