Eva Jean (Burks) Cox

Eva Jean (Burks) Cox, 83, of Benton, went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 26, at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant.  She was born May 3, 1929 in Mabelvale to the late Jessie Lem Burks and Vera Ruth (Rogers) Burks.  She was a member of Calvery Baptist Church and an Eastern Star.  Mrs. Cox was very active with the PTA and had served as a past president.  She was also a hotel book keeper and had obtained her real estate license.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, one granddaughter, Jessica Amber Morgan and two sisters, Bonnie Garner and Joyce Gibson.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Olen O. Cox of Benton; one son, Greg Cox and wife, Tonia of Benton, one daughter, Debra Kliewer and husband, Wayne of Benton; two grandchildren, Bret Morgan and Sabrina Cox; four great-grandchildren, Morgan George, Blake Potter, Jasmine Morgan, and Xander Morgan; six sisters, Sue Long and husband, Sonny of Benton, Martha Hilson and husband, Carl of Benton, Barbara Johnson of Greenbrier, Betty Chunn and husband, Fred of Haskell, Kaye Callahan and husband, James of Benton, and Sheila Clark and husband, Dave of Texas; two brothers, George Burks and wife, Carla and Jessie Burks, all of Benton; numerous nieces and nephews; many relatives, and other special friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047) with Rev. Frank Thurman and Rev. Elvis Griffin officiating.  Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.  
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 27, at the funeral home.
