Floyd Glenn White was lifted into Godâ€™s comforting arms Monday May 19, 2014. All his pain and suffering has come to an end after fighting multiple health issues for the past two and half years. He passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his loving family.
Glenn was born at home to Fred and Florence Louise White in Oxnard, CA. He was the fourth of six children. He attended Haddock Elementary; Wilson Jr. High; and Oxnard High School in California. Glenn proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, enlisting in Santa Barbara, CA. and was discharged at Fort Ord, CA. He was attached with the 4th Army, 10th Mountain Division. Glenn served in 5 major battles during his enlistment. He was a Korean War Veteran. Glenn worked for the Department of Defense as an Electronics Engineer at Point Mugu Naval Air Base, Point Mugu, California for forty-two years. He was Chief of the Oxnard Police Reserve Officers for eighteen years in Oxnard, California. He was a fourteen year member and past President of the Oxnard Pharaohâ€™s Car Club. He later belonged to the Royals Car Club of Southern California. Glenn was a member of the American Legion and NRA. Glenn always liked spending time with his family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed visiting with folks and sharing his knowledge and stories. He will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and friendliness.
He is preceded by his mother, Florence Louise White, his father, Fred White; sister Norma Hironymous, and brother Ralph White.
Left to cherish his legacy and memory are his loving wife of forty-three years. Judi White; sons, Paul White (Donna); Doug Kelton (Debi); daughter Karen Cross (Jim); three grandchildren; sister Millie Sudden (John); Betty Hurt (Glen); and brother Ray White (Jeanette).
In appreciation for the exceptional care given by Baptist Hospice, the family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to: Baptist Hospice, 11900 Colonel Glenn Road, Suite 2000, Little Rock, AR 72210-2820.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 23, at Forest Hill Memorial Park, 10201 Hwy 5 North in Alexander. Arrangements by Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton.
