Frances E. Collie, age 95, of Malvern, passed away Monday April 30, at Hot Spring County Medical Center. She was born April 10, 1917 in Hot Spring County to the late William and Alice Davis Hodges. Frances was reared in the Assembly of God faith and worked in housekeeping in a local nursing home. Her loves were her family and her best friend Vernice Taylor. Frances enjoyed gardening and the family said as long as she was â€śdigging in the dirtâ€ť she was happy. Family was the most important thing to her and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband; Leeson William Collie, son; Jerry Allen Collie, 16 brothers and sisters, great-granddaughter; Kristi Southworth, and Great grandson; Reese Cannon Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Richard Lee Collie of Malvern, daughters: Barbara Sue Holland-Kaufman of Little Rock and Joann Southworth of Benton. Brothers: Houston Hodges and wife, Mary of Longview, Texas and Winston Hodges and wife, Geneva of Donaldson. Sisters Louise Lang of Malvern and Wanda Goden of Dallas, Texas. Daughter in law; Dora Ann Collie of Louisiana, 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, May 3, with Pastor Leonard Hodges officiating at Atkinson Chapel Interment follows Prairie Bayou Cemetery in Bismarck under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home.
Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at Atkinson Funeral Home.
