Freddie Geneta Kirkpatrick Cash, 81, of Benton departed this earth for her eternal home in heaven on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013.
She delighted in her work as admissions representative at Baptist Medical Center for almost 20 years.Â
She once wrote about her job, saying, “One of the most important things I do is pampering the aged. The aged and widows really need someone to make sure they are treated fair.” She had a heart for those without a voice, the old and the young. She was blessed with the gifts of compassion and joy. Trial or triumph, she had a peace which transcended understanding because she found her strength in the joy of the Lord.
Prior to working for Baptist Medical Center, she and her husband, Gene, were co-owners of a very trustworthy and successful car business for 17 years. She loved God, her family and had a great passion for traveling and writing. She could often be found with an open atlas in her hand and suitcase packed for the “next” trip. Her delightful short stories and poems were often amusing and were always an encouragement to family and friends. She enjoyed sports, particularly basketball, playing throughout high school and as an adult.
She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Regina and Richard Burch of Texas, Kathy and Billy Plante of Bryant and Tracy and James Moy of Benton; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.Â
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 25, at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton with Dr. W.A. Dillard officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service and burial will follow at Fairplay Cemetery.
