Glenda Lee Neckar
My mother, Glenda Lee Neckar, was born Aug. 23, 1935, to Dovie May Pendergrass and James Ellory Spicer in Paris, Ark. She lived in Benton, Waco, Texas, and Tulsa, Okla. Her final destination was Hot Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Eloise Spicer French; a brother, James Clifton Spicer; and, most recently, her dearest friend in the world, Ruth Landers.
She is survived by her sister, Martha Rowles of Hot Springs; and a niece, Glenda Rowles Pippin of Hot Springs.
The greatest joy Mother ever experienced was the love she felt for her two grandchildren, Laura Helen Benold and Abbey Elizabeth Benold of Austin, Texas.
Mother died on the same date she gave life to her only child, Stephanie Renee Hester Benold. She gave birth to me on Dec. 15, 1956, at 8:20 a.m., and she left this world at 7:12 a.m. Dec. 15, 2012.
Those who knew her or who know me know she lived a life filled with depression. She was born two generations before substantial advances were made today in the treatment of depression.
Her family wishes peace for her at last.
No services is planned in keeping with her request.
