Gwendolynne Louise “Pud” Troutt Webb
Gwendolynne Louise “Pud” Troutt Webb, 81, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8.
She was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Benton.
Mrs. Webb attended Sullins College in Bristol, Va., and continued her education at USC, where she became a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
She later went on to receive her degree in education in Arkansas and taught 32 ½ years at Caldwell Elementary School in Benton.
Mrs. Webb was co-chairman of the Gann Museum with her very close friend, Dorcas Holicer, and a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Benton.
In 1988 Mrs. Webb received the Women’s Distinction Award from the Saline County Chamber of Commerce. She was active in many groups in Saline County including being a volunteer at Saline Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her parents, George L. and Lucille Cox Troutt; and her brother, Robert Troutt.
She is survived by her son, J. Leslie Evitts III and wife Janie of Fort Smith and their daughter, Laura Jensen and husband Nathan of Portland, Ore.; her husband, Allen Webb of Benton and his children, Margie Webb Daniel and husband Dennis of Memphis, Tenn., Libby Webb Hastings and husband Lee of Little Rock, Allen Richard Webb II and wife Dede of Mobile, Ala., and Lisa Webb Hefley and husband Dr. Bill Hefley Jr. of Little Rock; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb.10, at First United Methodist Church in Benton. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Ashby Funeral Home.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are members of the Covenant Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gann Museum.

Family comments: She loved her family and had numerous friends all over the world. Her friends were very important to her and were a big part of her life. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
