Molly White gave Harmony Grove a two-run lead when she single home Coffee.
“It was an excellent game,” coach Sammi Massey said. “Everybody had a great attitude and had great spirits. Our seniors played a huge role and everybody was focus and ready to play.
“It was very fun to watch.”
Perryville scored their two runs in the fifth. Parins pitched all seven innings, allowing just five hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.
“She pitched an excellent game,” Massey said. “She played a great game but it really was a total team effort. I’m really proud of my seniors, espcially Kaylle who it got it started with a hit.”
Harmony Grove scored their first run of the game in the fourth inning, Tori Simmons reached on a RBI walk. Coffee reached on an error to begin the inning, followed by a walk to Parins and a second error that allowed White to reach first.
Allen was 1-4, Coffee was 1-3, Parins was 2-3 and White was 1-4. Aliyah Kennedy was 1-3.
“Perryville had a very good pitcher so our hits were far and few between,” Massey said. “But we got them when we needed them.”
Laura Britt had nine putouts for Harmony Grove, including a double play.
“She really stood out defensively,” Massey said.
The Lady Cardinals will play host-team Prescott today at noon after the Lady Curly Wolves beat Corning 4-0 in the first round.
