Harvey Horace 'J.R.' Dodson

Harvey Horace "J.R." Dodson, 64, of Benton, went to his  home on Oct. 31, 2013. He was born August 27, 1949, in Benton to Harvie and Juanita Dodson. Those that knew J.R. know there are many stories to tell, but none other than the love he had for his family, childhood stories, and the days at deer camp or on the lake. For the time he was here, he left an impression on many and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edward Dodson; a sister, Lucy Kaye Dodgen; a sister-in-law, Sherry Dodson; and a grandson, Eric Daniels.
J.R. is survived by two daughters, Amanda Badgett and husband Donny and Mary Daniels and husband Eric of Benton; his siblings, Mary Ragsdale and husband Charles of Benton, Sherry Polzin and husband Dan of Paron, and Ricky and David Dodson of Benton. He also leaves his five grandchildren, Jordan Addie, Haleigh and Jasper Badgett, and Kapriesha and Tyiesha Daniels, all of Benton. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends as well.
Funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ten Mile Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at the funeral home.
