Helen Catherine Stone, a resident, of Royal, and a former resident of Harrison, passed from this life on Saturday, May 17, 2014. She was 77 years old.
Helen Catherine (Davis) Stone was born November 11, 1937 to George and Loreine (Beins) Davis in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She attended School in Harrison, graduating with the class of 1956. Helen was crowned Miss Harrison in 1954.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth I. Stone on December 30, 1959 in Wichita, Kansas. Helen was a member of the Piney Grove United Methodist church. Helen worked many years as a Nursing Home Administrator and held many positions in the business field throughout her life. Mrs. Stone later retired to Hot Springs, where she lived, until her death, at her lake home on Lake Hamilton.
Helen was a loving and compassionate woman, who loved her family unconditionally. She was faithful and generous and always had a kind word for anyone that knew her. Helen loved cooking, being by the lake, working on puzzles, and especially loved all animals.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Catherine Rene Lewis; and a son, Robert Walter Stone.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Davis, of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Debra Stone, of Hot Springs, and Cynthia Horsley and husband, Ted, of Salt Lake City, UT; son, Kenneth Stone and wife, Jane, of Saint Paul, NE; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends.
Visitation will be 9 a.m., Friday, May 23, at Holt Memorial Chapel in Harrison, follow immediately by a graveside service at Maplewood Cemetery.
