Helen L. Harbison

Helen L. Harbison, 82, of Benton, passed away Aug. 11, 2014.  She was born March 30, 1932, in Birmingham, Ala., to the late D.W. and Sally Mills Beasley.  Helen was an avid gardener, canning lots of the fruits of her labor. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Johnny Ray and Paul Fremought Harbison; a brother, Louis Beasley; and a sister, Dorothy Beasley.
Helen is survived by her husband of 67 years, Floyd Fremought Harbison of Benton; a son, Archie Harbison and wife Betty of Benton; a brother, L.Q. Beasley of Garden Grove, Calif.; two sisters, Ruth Smithey of Lead Hill and Lois Thornberry of Benton; three granddaughters, Sheila Carey of Benton, Becky Crum and husband Mike of Benton, and Christy Fletcher and husband Ronnie of Mabelvale; and three great-grandchildren, Brittany Harrison, Michael Crum and Hunter Crum, all of Benton.
Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Ashby Funeral Home with Brother Burl Crabtree officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairplay Cemetery. 
Pallbearers are Ronnie Fletcher, Frankie Isom, Ben Lonsdale, Sam Griffin, Mike Crum and Randy Cordell.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Ashby Funeral Home,
