Herald L. Radican

Herald L. Radican, 88, of Benton passed away July 16.  He was born March 26, 1924, in Commerce, Texas, to the late Clyde and Lona Troboy Radican.  Herald was a deacon at Holland Chapel Baptist Church in Benton, worked for Reynolds Metals and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He loved to make making walnut shell baskets and was well-known for this skill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Wilma Radican.
He is survived by his son, Lloyd D. “Skip” Radican and wife Deborah of Benton; a daughter, Teresa J. Welch and husband Kenny of Benton; a brother, D.B. Radican of Houston, Texas, two sisters, Bonnie J. Nalley of Benton and Lita Keesee of Benton; a sister-in-law, Peggy Frost of Benton; grandchildren, Keilani Chandler and husband John of Malvern and Blake Welch of Benton; and great-grandchildren, Beth, Kati and Holly Chandler, all of Malvern.
Serving as pallbearers are David Nalley, Darryl Nalley, Jonny Helmich, D.B. Radican Jr., Bob McDaniel and Gerald Haley.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 19, at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton. The Rev. Carl Richey will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 18, at Ashby Funeral Home.
