I.E. 'Eddie' McCray Jr.

Prominent Benton businessman I.E. “Eddie” McCray Jr. of Benton passed away Saturday, March 24. He was 84.
He was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Little Rock to the late I.E. McCray Sr. and Rose (Wray) McCray.
Mr. McCray was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the 1949 graduating class of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. 
He was an entrepreneur in Saline County for many years.
He was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, LaNelle (McNeil) McCray; and one brother, Jack McCray.
He is survived by two sons, Ish McCray III and wife Jan and Mickey McCray of Benton; three grandchildren, Ish McCray IV, Heather York and husband Paul, and Holly McCray, all of Benton; two great-grandchildren, Jaycee and Jarad York of Benton; two nephews, Jack McCray Jr. of Benton and Kevin McCray of Little Rock; one niece, Kristy Tellez of Tampa, Fla.; and numerous relatives and friends.
Visitation is scheduled rom noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047),
A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Old Rosemont Memorial Park with the Revs. Richard Hamlin and Muncy Harris officiating.
Serving as pallbearers are Ray Baxter, Jim Landers, Will Bearden, Jim Ed Stilwell, Libcarlisle and Fred Wray.
