Irvin Jones

Irvin Jones, 84, of Bryant passed away Jan. 22, 2014.  He was born Oct. 22, 1929, in Saline County to the late Johnny Larkin and Willie Dodson Jones.
Irvin was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church and served three years with the Army Air Corps.  He was retired from Alcoa.
Irvin was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Johnny and Jesse Jones; and a sister, Jacquelyn Hosaka.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris Cloudell Jones; his daughters, Connie Thomas, Vicki Morgan (Jeff) and Barbara “Babs” Heard (Joe); his grandchildren, Bryan Thomas, Amy O’Connell, Lauren Brakebill, Richard Thomas, Seth Howerton and Rachel Heard; and a great-grandchild, Nathan Dean.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Holland Chapel Baptist Church with Brother Carl Richey and Brother Jason Tallent officiating.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bryan Thomas, Richard Thomas, Seth Howerton, Raymond Rankin, Andrew Brakebill and Joe Heard.
The family will be at the Doris Jones residence, 512 Sedgefield Drive in Bryant. Family and friends are welcome at any time.
Cremation was through Ashby Funeral Home.
