Jack Ervin McGhee

Jack Ervin McGhee passed away June 4 in Benton.  He was born March 5, 1934 in Adona to James and Arizona McGhee.
He was employed by Alcoa in Benton, retiring in 1996.  He loved fishing on Lake Nimrod and working in his garden. 
Mr. McGhee was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lonnie and Johnny McGhee; sisters, Ruby Herndon, Maxine Phillips, Earline Massey; and son-in-law, Trey Geyer. 
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Zuber McGhee; two daughters, Tena Fisher and Kelley Whitbey and husband Dennis; two grandchildren, Tara Jo Smith and husband Tad and Sam Geyer; three great-grandchildren, Teegan, Trace and Tinlee Jo Smith; a brother Earl McGhee, all of Benton; and a sister Molly Gober of Hannibal, Mo.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. 
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Ashby Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at 306 RTZ Drive in Benton.
