James “Jim” R. Golman

James “Jim” R. Golman, 82, of Benton, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. He was born July 10, 1931 in San Gabriel, California to the late Robert L. Golman and Grace Miller Golman. He was an Air Force Veteran Staff Sergeant serving in the Korean War and stationed in Japan for 2 ½ years. Retired from Southwestern Bell and AT&T with 35 years of service; and member of Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church since 1975 and served faithfully as a Deacon; taught the youth and was a member of the adult choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Golman.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet Golman; son, Tim (Jennifer) Golman of Benton; three grandchildren, Chelsea (Nathan) Hand; Sydnee Golman and Courtney Golman.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Sanders officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30 in Little Rock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Adult Choir and Youth Ministry at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 31510, Little Rock, Arkansas 72260 and The Upper Room Student Ministry Memorial Fund of First Baptist Church Benton, 211 S. Market Street, Benton, AR 72015.
