James D. 'Donnie' McAnear

James D. "Donnie" McAnear, 62, of Heber Springs died June 3, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Donnie was a graduate of Heber Springs High School and the University of Central Arkansas and served in the Arkansas Army National Guard.
Donnie was a naturally persuasive person and enjoyed a lengthy career as a salesman in the industrial supply industry. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and spending time on Greers Ferry Lake.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cleon D. McAnear.
Donnie is survived by his fiancee, Melissa Osbahr; two daughters, Debbie Blend and husband Steve of Bryant and Sandra McAnear and husband Aaron of Benton; grandchildren, Brett, Reagan and Kaylie Blend; his parents, Billie Lou and Sanford Birdsong of Heber Springs; a brother, Darvin McAnear and wife Jodi of Heber Springs; a sister, Cynthia Thacker and husband Butch of Conway, along with many other family members and friends.      
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, at Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs.
Visitation will precede the service, from 10 to 11 a.m, at at the funeral home.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, June 7, at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Little Rock. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Midtowne Church, 4037 Boone Road, Benton, AR 72015. 
Family comments: The family extends special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab Center in Heber Springs for their professional and compassionate care of Donnie and the many courtesies extended to the family during Donnie's stay at the facility.
