James Madison Lee

James Madison Lee, 84, of Benton passed away Friday June 6, 2014, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock.
He was born April 30, 1930, to Bud Lee and Rachel Childress Lee in Saline County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the Saline County Water Department.
Mr. Lee was past adjutant of American Legion Post 19 in Benton and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 63 years, Eileen Foley Lee.
He is survived by his sons, Jim Lee (Gail) of Rogers, Steve Lee (Sharon) and Eddie Lee of Benton; a daughter, Kathy Harper (David) of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Chad Lee of Jackson, Tenn., Amanda Fox of Fayetteville, Cliff Lee of Little Rock and Kara Norton of Benton; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ross Lee (Sue) and John Lee; and a sister Margie Hughes (Don), all of Benton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The ashes of James will be joining Eileen’s on the island of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands.
Ashby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. No local service will be held.
