James 'Pal' Burton

James "Pal" Burton, 97, of Tull passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014.
He was born July 20, 1916 in Tull.
Mr. Burton was a member of Saline Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and he loved his family. 
He was a carpenter by trade, building or remodeling several houses in the Tull community.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a great love for nature and animals. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wylie Burton and Dora Ashcraft Burton; his wife, Fern Burton; one brother; and six sisters.
He is survived by his son, Don Burton of Tull; a daughter, Jeanie Robinson and husband H.D. of Tull; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Ebenezer Cemetery in Tull.  The Rev. Kim Hammer will officiate.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Ashby Funeral Home.
