James Samuel Scott

James Samuel Scott, 59, of Benton passed away on Wednesday November 7, after his battle with Lung Cancer. He was born July 7, 1953 in Little Rock. Sam was employed as a Mail Carrier by Little Rock Community Mental Health Center. He served in the US Army for two years and was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. Sam was a farmer, cattleman and an integral partner in the Scott Family Farm. He was also an avid and successful gardener and fisherman. Sam was very generous with the fruits of both.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert M. Scott.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Medlock Scott of Benton; two brothers, Robert M. (Bob) Scott and wife, Waynette Gambill of Scott, Jeffersonville, Indiana; Timothy Wayne (Tim) Scott and his wife, Kathy Roper Scott, of Bentonville, aunts and uncles, Milton Bard Scott and wife Margaret, of Benton; Randall Chastain, of Benton; Hugh Medlock and wife Johnnie of Texas; Jacqueline Choate and husband Hubert of Oklahoma; and other family members.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday, November 12 at Scott Cemetery on Congo Road in Benton. 
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the home.
