Jane 'Tootie' Johnson Higgins

Jane “Tootie” Johnson Higgins, 71, passed away Nov. 8 at University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock.
She was born Oct. 10,1940, in Traskswood, to David and Ruby Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Kenneth Higgins; one son, Donald David Higgins; two brothers, Skeet and Buster Johnson; a sister, Betty Burnett; two grandchildren, Jonathan and David; and a former daughter-in-law, Deborah Kay Higgins.
She is survived by three sons, James Ray Higgins and wife Mitzi, Paul Douglas Higgins and wife Betty and Charles Kenneth Higgins and wife Jessica, all of Benton; two daughters, Karen Renee Sutton and husband Mark of Memphis, Tenn., and Wendy Renee Louquet and husband Ryan of Benton; one brother, Johnny Johnson; and three sisters, Elsie Lawrence, Lottie Stewart and Shirley Johnson.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristen, Brittany, Paula, Steven, Star, Melissa, Allen and Jennifer; numerous great-grandchildren; and many friends and other family members. Tootsie’s greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and playing bingo.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Social Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Peaceful Haven Funeral Home.
Arrangements are by Peaceful Haven Funeral Home, 322 N. Market in Benton.
