Jimmy Dale Tarvin

Jimmy Dale “KO” Tarvin, 76, of Lonsdale passed away Thursday, Dec. 15.
He was born Feb. 18, 1935, in Lonsdale to the late Louis and Valeria Tarvin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, George and Octavia Steely of Lonsdale.
Jimmy served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars.  He retired in 1974 after 22 years of service.
He taught electronics at the Arkansas College of Technology for 15 years after retirement.  Jimmy worked about 18 years with the Boy Scouts as a Cubmaster, a Scoutmaster and an Explorer Post Leader, and is a vigil member of the Order of the Arrow.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann Brown Tarvin; his children, Jimmy Dale Jr. and wife Gina of Russellville and Susan Douglass and husband Mark of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Johnna Lou Snow and husband Emmett of Bennet, Neb.; four grandchildren, Dr. Christina Bartlett and husband Jake of Russellville, William Tarvin and wife Nicole of Huntsville, Lisa Campbell and husband Matt of Wichita, Kan., and Jason Douglass, also of Wichita; and three great-grandchildren, Angela Tarvin, Ethan Bartlett and Kendyl Tarvin.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Ten Mile Cemetery in Lonsdale.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047).
