Joann Chastain, 83, of Benton passed away after a lengthy illness of Alzheimer. She was born December 12, 1930 in Benton, to the late Winfred and Thelma Patterson Clift. Joann was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church and was retired as a teller for Regions Bank of Benton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jesse Chastain and brother, Harlan Clift.
She is survived by daughter, Sherry (Jim) Kelley of Benton; sister, Carolyn (Paul) Wilson of California; two grandchildren, Meredeth (Ryan) Hankins of Birmingham, Ala. and Jonathan (Loren) Kelley of Little Rock; four great-grandchildren, Audrey and Lucy Hankins, Spencer and Evelyn Kelley and two nieces, Paula Prizio and Patti Wilson both of California.
Chapel services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, by Ashby Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Landers, Sam McAdoo, Johnny Dawson, Terry Toney and Ryan Hankins.
Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 20 at Ashbys.
