Joe Bert Stewart

Joe Bert Stewart, 72, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.  He was born November 15, 1941 in Wister, Oklahoma to Orvis D. and Bessie M. Pearson Stewart.  Mr. Stewart was employed with Entergy for 25 years.  He was of the Assembly of God Faith and attended First Assembly of God in Russellville for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Garner Stewart; two daughters, Sandy and Mark White of Benton and Vicki Lay and Steve Gibson of Dover; five grandchildren, Kurt Polk (Jamie) of Shirley, Andrew Overman (Destiny) of Dover, Kaleb White of Benton, Molly White of Benton, and Cameron Lay of Dover; one great-grandson, Adrain Polk of Shirley;  two brothers, Donald and Sherry Stewart of Sherwood, and Doyle and Shirley Stewart of Little Rock; three sisters, Paula Earls of Poteau, Oklahoma, Gwenda and Don France of Bigelow, and Lynda and Donald McClellan of Cabot,  and many cherished family members and friends.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014, at the Russellville First Assembly of God, officiated by Rev. Bud Avants and Rev. Mike Norberg. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers are grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are past and present Entergy employees and Valley Antique Auto Club Members and a special nurse, Rebecca Olson.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 5-6:30 p.m., at Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
