John Morrison, 96, of Benton passed away Thursday, July 12, in Little Rock. He was born Aug. 11, 1915, in Mountain View to the late Neal and Cora Johnson Morrison.
Mr. Morrison was a licensed minister and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Benton. He had worked for Reynolds Metals in Bauxite from the 1950s to the 1970s.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Dean Morrison; two sisters; and six brothers.
He is survived by two daughters, Sue Wages of Plano, Texas, and Sheri Gourley of Benton; his grandchildren, Lance Wages of Shreveport, La,, Mark Wages of Plano, Texas, and Jimmy Gourley of Amity; six great-grandchildren, Erin Brown of North Carolina, Eric Wages of McAlister, Okla., Micah Wages of Shreveport, La., Cody Gourley of Fayetteville, Chad Gourley of Bismarck, and Caitlyn Gourley of Benton; and three great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. The Rev. Carlon Higgs will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047).
