John W. Johnson

John W. Johnson, age 71, of Benton, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011. He was born Sept. 15, 1939, in Traskwood. Mr. Johnson was a licensed building contractor in Arkansas and Denver, Colo. He also spent a short time in the U.S Army. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ora Johnson; wife, Mary L. Johnson and two brothers, Dick and Gene Johnson.
He is survived by three sons, John Edward Johnson of Kentucky, William Troy Johnson of Alexander and Freddie Johnson of North Carolina; three daughters, Vickie Cady of Sheridan, Janice Watts of Little Rock and Mattie “Susie” Trevino of Benton; sister, Joyce Green of Little Rock; his special friend, Doris Herring of Donaldson and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Wilson, James Lovell, Randy Childs, Charlie Rodriguez, William Posey, Jeff Hill, John Mansker, Johnny Witham Sr. and Justin Witham.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ashby Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m.
