Johnie Otis Ward

Johnie Otis Ward, 87, of Benton, passed away August 9.  He was born April 9, 1924 in Jessieville, to the late John and Almeda Ward.  Johnie was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War.  He was a 32nd degree Mason and attended Mt. View Baptist Church.  Johnie was preceded in death by his brothers, William Ward, Rector Ward, Walter Ward and Thomas Ward, sisters, Ida Ward, Mandy Murders and Violet Cockman.
 
 
Survivors, sons, Allen Ward and wife, Cindy of Little Rock, RoyWard and wife, Cindi of Greenwood, Johnie Ward and wife, Kathy of Augusta, Georgia, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
 
Pallbearers will be Tony Jackson, Tim Jackson, Rickey Jackson, Stacey Jackson, Felton Beaty and David Jackson.
 
Church Services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Mt. View Baptist Church with Bro. Cecil Hyde officiating.  Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery in Mt. Pine.
 
Visitation will be at Ashby Funeral Home, Wednesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
